Adjective tantivy: a galloping gait

Verb to maffick: described the jubilant celebrating of British troops after they successfully defended Mafeking during the Second Boer War (1899-1900).

mucker: British slang for one who employs himself in low pursuits; also (as 'old mucker') for a friend
